Your Flaws as Hidden Virtues

Your Flaws as Hidden Virtues

Our flaws are the reverse side of our virtues

Humans are innately kind, and all the flaws we have do not reveal our true essence. In other words, initial positive desires and abilities can transform into negative traits under the influence of certain circumstances of the surrounding world. So, it can be said that our different negative habits or traits substitute the virtues we’ve had earlier.

Any of the negative tendencies listed below is the wrong way of using the energy of our soul, which typically has negative consequences. But you do not have to fight bad traits, to repress them, you need to change the direction of efforts. You cannot simply stop the flow of energy but you can re-direct it wherever you need. So, let’s have a look at the flaws and positive tendencies behind them.

Alcohol addiction

It is a hidden tendency (desire) to wisdom which aims at immersing deeply into the problem to solve it. A drunk person longs for communication because correct communication solves problems (unless you are drunk). Having found an interlocutor, a drunk person establishes the basis for communication and starts pouring out the soul. Of course, hardly any problems are solved in this state as alcoholism is a rude substitute for wisdom and philosophy. It is a distorted desire for communication with wise people, a substitute for such communication. Once you slightly change the direction of efforts – and a person may master philosophy and become Solomon.

A tendency to honesty. Smokers are typically honest with themselves, that is why they feel discomfort when the do something wrongly. It makes them want to smoke and relieve the tension. This bad habit appears when a person tends to estimate the correctness of their actions but cannot tune on, meditate. Smoking cigarettes is a substitute for meditation. Some efforts in this direction and a person can achieve success in meditation and get to know all the mysteries of the universe.

A distorted expression of individualism. An egotist is concentrated on himself, his own interests, desires, and pleasures. He sees how he is different from others and after analyzing, can realize that every person is unique with their set of features. Egoism is a hidden tendency to be a teacher, but to become a mentor, one should transform this trait through communication with those who are deprived of this flaw.

Desire for fame

It is a desire to be effective. A famous person attracts millions of people who imitate their words and actions. People tend to follow celebrities. The question is, what qualities the leader possesses because leaders change our fate either for the worse or the better. If this person possesses good qualities, it is a very effective way to improve social life in general.

Indicates an inclination to spiritual leadership. A person becomes angry when he/she dislikes bad behavior. The latter should be analyzed so that we can understand what is really wise and what is not. Anger is the opposite of the desire to save people from degradation and self-destruction.

Indicates the hidden tendency of being a follower – an ideal pupil that wants to have the same traits of character as his mentor. When we envy the wrong things, our life gets worse. Having chosen the right object of the envy and changed the direction of our actions, we can achieve success in spiritual practice.

A distorted tendency to spiritual enrichment. Having slightly transformed this feature, a person will get hungry for wisdom and communication with wise spiritual people. A stingy person is hungry for knowledge and accumulating wisdom.

A hidden desire to help people (spiritual healing). This person subconsciously knows that material things tie people to this world of suffering and mourning. Getting rid of precious things makes us think over the fact that nothing really belongs to us in this world; a burglar proves this fact by his actions, although such a method is not effective nowadays.

Having changed the direction of his actions, a burglar may learn to free people from their dependence on material objects, inspire with a desire for a healthy way of life, and getting rid of the unnecessary.  He may become a successful preacher proving by his own example that happiness lies not in money and that simple life (without abundancy) develops our consciousness and brings real joy – spiritual happiness.

It is a tendency to tolerate. A lazy person tolerates discomfort or the absence of some convenience not to do any “redundant” actions. Transforming this feature of character into a positive one, a person will continue their affair (or way) despite difficulties and will finally reach their goal.

A hidden tendency to care about others. Cunning is the opposite of parental love and the ability to correctly bring up. It is very favorable to use cunning to sincerely care about others (in this case, it is a positive trait), but if a person is cunning for their own benefit, they inevitably degrade.

An ability to sacrifice the worse for the better. This is the main principle of human development. Wise people reject dirty for clean, negative for positive, foolishness, and ignorance for knowledge and wisdom. People may view this process as a betrayal but wise people that sacrifice harmful for useful won’t be guided by the thoughts of others who are lower their level of development. Betrayal is the opposite of decisiveness and determination.

A very interesting hidden tendency to attentiveness, which can be very useful and change one’s fate once it is developed. People who constantly criticize notice the smallest details that cannot be noticed by others. If such people analyze positive aspects of a certain situation or phenomenon, they can also see many hidden aspects and become great explorers and even geniuses. They can solve problems others can’t, find solutions to dead-end problems, and see global perspectives. All these people need is to change the focus of their attention.

So, how do we transform our negative traits?

The secret is pretty simple: we need to communicate more with people who have the qualities we lack. Under the influence of positive surroundings, your own negative traits transform into initially positive ones. Besides, you need to try to avoid communication with people whose negative traits are too evident. It has the opposite effect on us – we get charged by their negative energy and borrow their negative character.
